Keeping the Charging Cable Out of the Way

To keep things consistent, I use painter's tape to mark where I coil the charging cable. I coil it up to the desired length, then place a piece of tape at the top of each coil. This way, I always coil it the same way, which helps prevent tangles and makes it easier to store.

Troubleshooting Slow Start on EV6 Home Charging

Have you tried charging from, say, 20% to 40% and seen if the charging speed improves? I'm wondering if the charger you're using might not be able to supply enough power to charge the car as quickly as it's capable of.

2023 GT-Line is great for traveling

My girlfriend was trying to decide between the EV6 and the Ioniq 5. She ruled out the Ioniq 5 because to get any of the good tech features, she'd have to go for the Limited trim, which seemed overpriced to me. Plus, she really wanted blind-spot monitoring and a surround-view camera, which...

Charging EV6 with the Myenergi Zappi Charger

My friend already owns his own car and has a Zappi charger, so he knows how these things work. I'm curious if any other EV6 owners have any experience charging at 1.4kW/6A. My owner's manual says the minimum charging rate is 4.2kW, but I'm wondering if it's actually possible to charge at a...

    Kia EV6 vampire drain

That's interesting! I just got back from a 5-day trip, and I noticed a similar battery drain. I was losing about 1.15% of charge per day, even with the truck parked outside, with features like "Park" mode enabled, Gear Guard activated, and all the usual precautions. I checked the state of...

Intelligent Octopus Issues with My Kia EV6!

Honestly, I have no idea what's causing the issue. The Jag app no longer works with my Octopus smart charger, and I'm not expecting an easy fix. I've heard that other people have had similar problems with third-party charging apps like Octopus. It seems some manufacturers have changed their...

Which Tesla App is used for Charging at a Tesla Supercharger?

You can check the Tesla’s website for more information.

Charging port door - is it safe to open manually?

I'm sure you'll be fine, but I wouldn't try it unless it's specifically mentioned in the owner's manual.

Tesla V4 Superchargers & Kia EV6 charging compatibility question

Only Tesla Superchargers with a "Magic Dock" are compatible with our cars for now. Tesla needs to update their network to allow our vehicles to charge. I'm looking forward to when that happens, though, as it would significantly expand my charging options.

    EV6 DC charging

My friend is having the same exact issue with his car, and he's getting the same error code. He hasn't had much luck with the dealership so far. I'm curious to know how you resolved this issue. Did you find a solution?

    EV6 Battery Discharge!

The way the 12V battery system in my Kia EV is designed just doesn't make sense to me. The electronics that control things like the clock and remote commands use very little power – a small 12V battery could easily last for weeks. It's also not a complete system. The main car battery should be...

    EV6 Issues and Disappointments

The only thing I'm not crazy about with my 2023 EV6 is that it doesn't have wireless Apple CarPlay. My son's 2022 Elantra has it, and it's so convenient. I'm using a USB-to-wireless adapter, and it works perfectly, but it seems like a bit of an oversight for a $50,000 car. Other than that, this...

Why’s My EV6 Climate Control Going Crazy?

You need to schedule a visit to the dealership. There's a software update for the HVAC system that needs to be installed by the dealer through the car's ECU. When you make the appointment, you’ll ask for the recall update with the Technical Service Bulletin number KCE22-71-EO40CV

Kia Charge App cost and hidden fees

I use the Easy Kia charge card, so I don't get any price discounts. To be honest, we don't use public chargers very often, mostly just on longer trips. The Easy Kia card works with most charging networks, but not all. So, it's good to have a backup plan, like a different charging app or my bank...

Missing Trips in My Kia App History!

Since my car's software updated to version 6.0.0, I've noticed that the trip history feature hasn't been working correctly. It's not updating properly for me.

Is EV6 AWD always engaged or only when needed?

How the all-wheel-drive system works in my car depends on the driving mode I select. Most modes (like Normal): The car primarily uses rear-wheel drive to save energy. The system will automatically engage all-wheel drive when extra acceleration or traction is needed, like when I'm accelerating...

Thing/s on your EV6 that bothers you?

The VESS backup sound in my EV is absolutely awful. I hate it so much that I've seriously considered trying to figure out how to change it, or even resorting to something drastic like pulling the fuse. I know it's there for safety, but it's incredibly annoying.

How do I disable the VESS System in my ‘22 EV6 GT-Line?

@djwolford The VESS noise on my EV is way louder than the ones I've heard in the UK. Over there, it's just a soft 'bonging' sound. Ours sounds more like an alarm! It's really obnoxious.
