Hey guys.
I’ve got this super weird thing going on with my EV6. The remote climate control keeps kicking on by itself, and honetsly, its got me a bit baffled since I don’t have any trips or departure times set. I’ve peeked into the app, but I’m totally stumped.

Anyone else run into this? How do I make it chill out and stop turning on all its own? Need help, please.
Thanks alex.

I’d check the car’s display to see if a departure time is set and enabled, since the app can be kinda hit or miss when it comes to schedules and all. But if it’s not plugged in, then that’s definitely not the issue!

I am thinking about the A/C automatic drying feature, but that usually kicks in about 30 minutes after you turn the car off, not randomly. Might be worth checking if that's enabled in your climate settings. If that's not it, there could be another system like auto-defrost triggering it.

Hey!

I’ve had my EV6 for a while now, and I ran into something similar with the remote climate system. It turns out there are a couple of settings that can cause the climate control to kick on even when you don’t think you’ve set anything. Here's what I found helpful:
  1. Smart Climate Features: Check if you’ve accidentally toggled the “Winter Mode” or “Auto Defrost” settings in the car’s menu or the app. These can automatically trigger the climate system under certain conditions, like when it’s cold outside.
  2. Scheduled Climate Settings: Even if you haven’t intentionally set departure times, sometimes a glitch in the app might make it think there’s one. Try going into the app, clearing any schedules, and then restarting it.
  3. App or Key Fob Commands: Double-check if the app might be misbehaving and sending a command to the car unintentionally. If you’re using a shared key fob, someone else might also accidentally trigger the climate system.
Here’s what worked for me: I reset the climate settings in the car’s infotainment system and re-synced with the app. It hasn’t happened again since. If it persists, you might want to reach out to your dealer to check for a software update.

Let me know if this helps! 😊

This might prove useful for me, I will bookmark this page. Thanks Lauren!

You need to schedule a visit to the dealership. There's a software update for the HVAC system that needs to be installed by the dealer through the car's ECU.

When you make the appointment, you’ll ask for the recall update with the Technical Service Bulletin number KCE22-71-EO40CV
