Troubleshooting Slow Start on EV6 Home Charging

How’s everyone’s charging experience been with the EV6 GT-Line Performance at home? I just got my home charger installed here in the U.S., and I’ve noticed a couple of quirks:

• Charging starts out really slowly, around 0.2 kW, and stays there for a bit before picking up.
• The charging rate generally stays between 9-10 kW, and I haven’t seen it go above 10 kW yet, even though the charger is rated for 11 kW.

Has anyone has noticed similar charging behavior, or am I overlooking something important here?

It really depends on the supply availability. I have a relative in the UK who gets up to 7kW from a home charger.

Have you tried charging from, say, 20% to 40% and seen if the charging speed improves?

I'm wondering if the charger you're using might not be able to supply enough power to charge the car as quickly as it's capable of.

I’ve noticed the same with my EV6 too. The slow initial charging is probably due to the battery preconditioning process, which is common in EVs. As for the max charge rate, 9-10 kW sounds about right, sometimes the vehicle or charger settings limit it a bit, even if the charger is rated for 11 kW. Are you using a 32A or 16A charger?
