No idea how long you can leave the EV6 parked before the 12v dies, but 3 weeks seems pretty lame. Ours lasted that long when we left for vacation. Any idea how long an EV battery that's parked for weeks lasts?

Trickle charger could work with Lithium batteries but not exactly sure. But I think there are some that support both types of batteries. Has anyone tried it?

I couldn't find much info online except some stuff about Hyundai cars with similar issues. But I'm already thinking of calling the dealer and having it checked. Does anyone else out there have this problem with their Kia?

What! Three weeks does seem short for the 12V battery to die. EV batteries are meant to last longer, but it varies.

I get your point, but I think three weeks can be pretty common for some EVs, especially with frequent use of features that draw power. It really depends on how the battery is being managed and what other accessories are connected.

That's interesting! I just got back from a 5-day trip, and I noticed a similar battery drain. I was losing about 1.15% of charge per day, even with the truck parked outside, with features like "Park" mode enabled, Gear Guard activated, and all the usual precautions.

I checked the state of charge a few times during the trip, and I saw that Gear Guard was triggered a few times each day. I wonder if that's contributing to the battery drain.

Three weeks seems like a short time for the 12V battery to drain. Any feeedback yet? Have you checked if there are any energy-draining settings or features left on?

Typically, you may expect the 12V battery to last anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks when the car is parked and not in use, assuming the battery is in good condition and there are no excessive power draws.

If you're planning to leave the vehicle parked for a longer period, it's recommended to either use a trickle charger or occasionally let somebody drive the car to keep the 12V battery charged.

how much charge did it have before the 5 days? if it was half dead to begin with, that def would have added to it's decline. also, i've read that Kia Connect uses the battery when parked, depending on what controls you have set up.

EV vampire drain is real, and three weeks isn’t great, but it’s not unheard of either. The 12V battery in the EV6 doesn’t charge as often as it should, and some people have had issues with it dying even sooner. I’d definitely call the dealer and ask if they’ve seen this before maybe they’ll offer a battery check or suggest a stronger 12V replacement.
