Hey everyone, this might be a long one. I’m curious if anyone else has noticed a strange issue with the speed limit displays since the last navigation update. Before the update, there was a glitch where the software couldn’t tell the difference between a red light camera and a speed camera, so it would give speed camera warnings when approaching a red light camera. Now, with the new update, red light cameras don’t show a speed limit icon anymore, but sometimes the software gets mixed up about the actual speed limit. For instance, if the speed limit sign says 45, the display might show it as 30, which is very odd since the colors change too—31-32 are yellow, and 33+ are red, I guess. I’d take a picture, but the color change only shows on the AR display, which is tough to capture while driving.

Has anyone else experienced this? Also, is there a way to submit this software issue to Kia that I might have missed?

It seems the update hit you, too! I haven't had this issue, but I have another one. Until the update, the car didn't know the speed limit. It would show a dash. Now, when the speed limit is unknown, it displays 30mph. This can be a problem when setting the cruise control speed.

I agree with you, it seems like that update caused some unintended issues for many. The new default of 30mph for unknown speed limits could definitely create problems with cruise control settings.

Yes, and those problems can lead to bigger problems. Did you have a similar issue after that update?

I didn’t experience that exact issue after the update, but I’ve noticed some inconsistencies with the speed limit display, like it occasionally showing the wrong limit. Thankfully, it hasn’t affected my cruise control settings so far.

Seems like this update brought quirks for both of us! That default to 30 mph must be tricky for cruise. Any idea on the best way to report this to Kia?
