Any tips for camping with EV6?

Got my EV6 recently and now I’m scouring the internet for ways to make it camping-ready. Me and my girlfriend love adventures, so I’m keen to get tips for our future trips. Saw this vlogger using the V2L feature plugging in 3 pin plugs to power portable appliances from his EV6. But I'm curious if there’s a commando option for this? I’m thinking about waterproof setups at campsites where the car acts as the hookup point. Anyone tried using a commando instead of a 3 pin plug with the V2L port?

Try running a cord through your window and connect it to the V2L socket in your EV6.

If your 'commando' is the 16A version used at campsites, you can find an adapter at most caravan stores. It usually has a 13A plug on one end and a blue commando socket on the other, allowing you to use your EV6's V2L to power appliances with a more waterproof setup at campsites. I hope this helps!

Yeah I haven’t tried the commando setup myself, but I’ve heard others mention using adapters for waterproof camping setups.

I haven’t gone full commando setup either, but I did rig an adapter for a road trip camping stop. It rained all night, and I was worried the whole setup would short out, but everything stayed dry and powered.

Is this your first time camping with an EV? I'd recommend focusing more on the camping experience and less on the car itself. I also suggest using a separate tent instead of sleeping in the car. There isn't much headroom with the seats folded down. While you could sleep in the car, it would be difficult to get in and out or settle down.

The biggest advantage of using an EV for camping is having a massive battery that can power almost anything. You can use it for cooking with electric equipment, fans, lights, or even a tent air conditioner. It takes a few days to charge the car with a standard 120V home outlet. So, at a full charge, it would take about the same amount of time to discharge it (with minor efficiency losses). Most people don't use the full 15 amps from the outlet, so you could potentially power things for several days before needing to recharge.
