The charging rate of my Wallbox Pulsar+

It’s likely the battery management system adjusting as the charge level increases. EVs tend to slow down the charging speed as they get closer to full to protect the battery. The garage temperature and off-peak charging might also play a small role. Overall, it sounds pretty normal!

Steering column trim & visibility issues

Yeah, that loose steering column trim is definitely weird. As for the visibility, I’ve heard the same complaint from taller folks.

Kia EV6 Charge Request Error notification mystery

This morning I received an email from Kia America about a 'Charge Request Error' from my 2023 EV6 GTL RWD. It told me to check the Kia Owners Portal, but I can't find any related notifcations there. I haven't charged my car in weeks, so this is confusing. Does anyone know what this error means...

does i-pedal mode affect abs on the ev6?

Did you experience wheel slip, like tire squeal on dry pavement or sliding in wet conditions? Is that how you determined the ABS wasn't functioning?

    303 on Synthetic Leather

You can also try Pinnacle Black Label Leather and Vinyl Coating. It's a bit pricey but you only need a small amount so it lasts a long time. I can honestly say it’s one of the best products I’ve found definitely worth checking out!

    Is servicing important?

I get where you're coming from, and I’m not a fan of it either. However, I think it’s important to keep in mind that if something breaks related to that, they may refuse to honor any warranty claims if you don’t show up as required. Just a thought

I've been advised to keep a 12V battery tender connected to the 12V battery while I'm gone

I’ll be away for a few months during the winter and will leave my new EV6 in the garage. I plan to charge it to 80% using my Level 2 charger before I leave, but I’ll disconnect the charger once it's done. I’ve also been advised to keep a 12V battery tender connected to the 12V battery while I'm...

Intelligent Octopus Issues with My Kia EV6!

I’ve read that IO has had some issues with Kia EVs, particularly with charging and connectivity. They tend to rely on the chargers to manage the process, which can be frustrating. If you’re still having trouble, it might be worth switching or reaching out to their support team for assistance.

I totally agree. The quality of the brake pads makes a huge difference in this situation.

    Plans for 2025?

I’m with you, no big plans yet, but I’m sure something cool will pop up like it always does! One thing I’m definitely doing is driving down to Florida from New York about a 1,200-mile road trip to see a friend with my EV once the cold lets up. Looking forward to some warmer weather and a smooth...

    Split screen

I assumed this would be pretty standard, but I just tried split screen for the first time today, and no matter what I did, I couldn’t get both Apple CarPlay and the radio to show up at the same time. Anyone know what I’m missing?

    Two sit-upon kayaks

I’m thinking about gettin the EV6 and wondering if it can handle two kayaks, each weighing 21kg. Most setups I’ve seen are for single kayaks, so not sure about carrying two. I’ve found the Thule Wingbar Eco and Yakima Jetstream roof bars. Anyone know which one’s got the more secure foot design...

Keeping the Charging Cable Out of the Way

I like it! It’s a simple and affordable way to keep the charging cable off the floor, so you don’t keep tripping over it. Have you thought about hanging the outlets as another option?

Need to choose a bike rack!

I opted for the Thule system for the bars and bikes. It’s pricey when bought new, but I managed to grab everything second-hand except for the EV6 feet.

Any suggestion if I should get an EV6? If you are given a chance to buy one what are your choices? NEED HELP

I’d definitely buy it again if I already owned one. But since I don’t, I’m now thinking about buying one!

    Kia EV6 vampire drain

Typically, you may expect the 12V battery to last anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks when the car is parked and not in use, assuming the battery is in good condition and there are no excessive power draws. If you're planning to leave the vehicle parked for a longer period, it's recommended to either...

That’s why I tend to tap the brake early and then adjust the stop with one-pedal driving when using adaptive cruise control.

    ICD and EVs

I’d be surprised if there was an issue. I work in labs with equipment that has real magnetic field hazards, and some of that stuff creates way more EMI than an EV, and it doesn’t even get signs.

    Kia EV6 Sports mode

It’s not just in your head, there’s definitely a difference in power and handling. Feels like a new car! But I stick to Eco most of the time. Seems like the best balance for range.
