The tech is super cool, no doubt! But we seriously need some kind of standard for electric cars. Honestly, though, I don’t see that happening anytime soon, especially when all these companies roll out better battery tech. What are your thoughts?

I'm cool with this battery swapping. Batteries are fully charged, conditioned, and monitored, offering maximum range. The question is, are we ready for this?

Nah! Deploying battery change stations globally would require significant time and investment, which likely wouldn’t be worth it. Battery technology is advancing quickly, and soon we'll have quick-charge batteries that can charge even faster than the swap process.

I just saw somewhere that Tesla has tried this in California a few years ago: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_battery_station

It seems that fast and reliable high-speed charging has proven to be "good enough," so it might make more sense to invest capital into expanding that instead.

Tesla’s battery swapping didn’t really take off in California because fast charging proved to be good enough. Expanding charging stations there just makes more sense now.

Yup, I agree, fast charging has become so efficient that it meets most drivers' needs, making more charging stations a better investment for the future.

Nio should own the battery packs. I wouldn't trade my $15k battery pack for one that might not work. I don't like swapping LPG bottles, especially if they are too old and you will not receive your money back.
