FM Radio sound issues

On the drive home in our new car, the FM kept breaking up with this weird digital tearing sound. Even parked just 25 miles from the station, one channel "chuffed" every few seconds. I found out the radio noise reduction setting was to blame, switching it from minimum to original (basically OFF) instantly fixed it.

Location's everything. Signal's a gamble. I had XM ages ago, before it joined Sirius, and trees and hills would mess it up. But I'm guessing it's way more solid now with better tech.
