Planning a subwoofer install and eyeing the tow connector for 12v power. Anyone tried this? If so, which pin is hot and are there any specific connection methods (besides jamming a spade terminal in there... )? Also curious if there's a dedicated fuse to activate in the block for this circuit. Open to other clean power source ideas as well!

I actually unplugged the 12v connector in the trunk and rerouted it for my subwoofer. It was way easier for me since I won’t be using that port anyway. Maybe try that as a clean power source option.

The tow connector isn't suitable for tapping power for a subwoofer, but it does have 12V power for electric trailer brakes. The trailer harness already has an active fuse, so everything is live. For a clean power source, run a dedicated line from the battery with an inline fuse for the subwoofer instead.

Tapping into the tow connector sounds risky unless you’re sure it can handle the power draw of a subwoofer amp. If the 12V battery is easily accessible, I’d run a dedicated fused line instead. That way, you avoid any unexpected system issues caused by pulling power from a circuit not meant for audio.
