I recently purchased my first electric vehicle and am very pleased with it. Just one observation after a 5-hour drive when I got it, I noticed that the brakes could be improved. I found that its stopping power could not handle the vehicle because of its weight. Are there any aftermarket brake upgrades available for this one?

In the end, it's all up to you. But why bother with an upgrade? The stock brakes are already particularly impressive, delivering exceptional stopping power for a vehicle weighing over 4000 lbs. They far exceed the needs of most everyday drivers. They work flawlessly, leaving you wondering why anyone would change a system that was thoroughly developed by professionals.

When I got my EV newly, I went for a long drive and after it I noticed the brakes felt a bit soft too. I did some digging and found some aftermarket upgrades that really helped improve the stopping power. It made a huge difference. You might want to check out options from brands like EBC or Brembo; they usually have solid upgrades for electric cars.

I totally agree. The quality of the brake pads makes a huge difference in this situation.

Congrats on the new EV! Glad you’re enjoying it, but yeah, stopping power is kind of important. There are definitely upgrades out there, performance pads and rotors should do the trick. Worth chatting with a specialist to make sure your car can stop on a dime!
