I'm hesitant to open it manually because I want to be sure everything will work as it should. I recently experienced the same thing—I had to jump start my car. My main concern right now is whether I can manually open it even if my car is completely dead.

you can definitely try to manually open the charging port door, just press firmly on the left side of the port and it should open. the charging port door has the same mechanism as the door handles so you don't have to worry and everything should work out fine.

You should still be able to access your car with a physical key, even if the car's battery is completely drained. Once you're inside, there's usually a manual way to open the charging port door.

I get your hesitation about opening it manually. I once had to jump-start my car, and I was worried about whether everything would work properly if it was completely dead. You can make sure to check the "red pulley thing" in the trunk; it might help without needing to force anything.

It seems I have learned something new today. I didn't know you could open it manually. I guess, it is because I make sure not to let my car go completely dead.

I was hesitant about this too, but yes, it’s safe to open the charge door manually. Kia added a manual release in the frunk, so if the car is dead, you can still open it without damaging anything.

I had the same issue with my car recently! When it was completely dead, I was also concerned about manually opening it. Most cars do have a manual override for the door locks, but I’d recommend checking your owner's manual or consulting a professional to be safe. There’s usually an emergency release mechanism that can help, so it’s worth looking into for peace of mind!
